WHO THIS PROTOCOL IS FOR

This protocol is designed for clients who:

  • Want to stop or significantly reduce alcohol

  • Feel “stuck” using alcohol to unwind or cope

  • Are trying to improve weight loss, sleep, mood, or health

  • Suspect alcohol is quietly sabotaging progress

  • Want a reset, not a lifetime label

This is not about willpower. It’s about removing biological dependence and rebuilding internal safety.

CORE PRINCIPLE (VERY IMPORTANT)

Alcohol dependence is not a character flaw. It is a biological and neurological loop reinforced by:

  • Blood sugar instability

  • Stress hormones

  • Dopamine depletion

  • Habitual escape patterns

Fix the biology → the urge fades. Fix the environment → the habit collapses.


PHASE 1: REMOVE THE BIOLOGICAL HOOK (Days 1–7)

Goal: Stabilise blood sugar & nervous system

Most alcohol cravings are glucose crashes, deficiencies and and endocrine disruptions, not addiction.

Nutrition Rules:

  • Eat 3 solid meals daily

  • Prioritise protein + fat at every meal

  • Eliminate sugar, refined carbs, alcohol

  • No skipping meals during this phase

BBHC Meal Framework:

  • Protein (meat, eggs, fish)

  • Non-starchy vegetables. Only cruciferous vegetables

  • Healthy fats (butter, olive oil, coconut oil, animal fats)

This alone dramatically reduces cravings.


Hydration & Electrolytes:

Alcohol depletes:

  • Sodium

  • Potassium

  • Magnesium

  • Calcium

  • Trace Minerals

Daily:

  • Water + electrolytes

  • Do not fear salt

Cravings often disappear when minerals are restored.


PHASE 2: SUPPORT THE NERVOUS SYSTEM (Days 7–21)

Goal: Restore dopamine & calm stress chemistry

Alcohol artificially spikes dopamine.
When removed, YOU feel flat — temporarily.

This is neurochemical recovery, not depression.

Key Supports:

  • Protein (amino acids rebuild neurotransmitters)

  • Magnesium glycinate (nervous system calm)

  • Vitamin B-complex (alcohol depletes B vitamins)

  • Walking or light exercise daily

Avoid:

Craving Window Awareness

  • Sparkling water + lime & lemon (freshly squeezed, not bottled)

  • Bone broth

Ritual matters.


PHASE 3: REPAIR THE BODY (Weeks 3–6)

Goal: Heal liver, metabolism, sleep

Alcohol damages:

  • Liver detox pathways

  • Fat metabolism

  • Sleep architecture

  • Hormonal balance

This is where weight loss, clarity, and energy usually improve dramatically. keep in mind that this is not a weigh loss program. If you do not want to lose weight, then stick to three good meals per day. However, keep in mind, if you have a history of alcohol, and you are thin, you will 100% be "skinny fat". meaning fat around the organs, especially the liver.


PHASE 4: REMOVE THE EMOTIONAL NEED (Ongoing)

Goal: No longer need escape
