Health! What is Health? Well, it has a specific definition in the dictionary but seems to be the most misunderstood word.
Health, according to the World Health Organization, is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and physical or mental weakness”.
So how does one achieve this state? To attain a state of health as per the full definition one would need to know a few things. Things like what foods are good for you, what supplements should one take and in what volume.
Which brings us to the definition of food: any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth.
Then we need to know what a supplement is. It’s exactly what it says. a thing added to something else in order to complete or enhance it. So, it’s not actually food but does assist food where the food is lacking.
The body, being a complex series of nerves, glands, muscles and 1000’s of other parts, was designed to run on a specific fuel source. It was not designed to run on the food that is currently freely available in the stores. Certain minerals and other nutrients have been missing from man’s diet for over 100 years, and this problem has gotten worse and worse. Hence, we see an increase in disease and other body issues.
